Who are we?

Kathy Stokes School of Dance offers dance classes to children from the age of three years. Styles taught at the schools are Ballet, Tap, Theatrecraft Modern Jazz, Freestyle and Musical Theatre, using the boards of the I.D.T.A, R.A.D and I.S.T.D.

Whether pupils want to dance for pleasure or decide to take their dancing further, i.e. to a professional level, the school can cater for every pupils needs. Graded examinations and Vocational training can be undertaken by the pupil if desired. Many pupils are encouraged to participate in exam sessions that are held throughout the year. Pupils are also offered teacher training if required or show an interest in teaching.

A show is presented every two years, in which pupils can take part in. It is a chance for everyone to display their talent(s), show how they have improved and developed, and gain valuable experience in the theatre and performing arts.

There is no maximum age to dance and the School encourage both males and females to dance.

With classes in Tap and Jazz offered, adults too may dance for fun and interest, and take part in medal tests if desired to do so.

Kathy Stokes School of Dance is an established Dance School recognised by the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET). Friendly and experienced teachers (including guest teachers) help to encourage pupils, adults and their abilities through interesting, enjoyable but productive classes, and ensure that students get the best out of themselves and their time at the school.
